Delayed flight means late ring, sad kitty

American Airlines, in its infinite wisdom, decided that I didn't actually want to get home this morning. So instead, I am whisking through the air on my way to John F. Kennedy airport today. Now! That's right, I am being delinquent in my relationshipical duties in the air! Isn't the future great!

Here's a picture of Invention being sad that he won't get a chance to interrupt my typing by walking on the keyboard for an extra 8 hours.

Thoughts on similarity

Sometimes relationships are new and exciting every day. Sometimes, they're similar, but just a little different. This may seem boring for those of you on the outside. But for those of us in the relationship, sometimes it's nice to get a bit of the same awesome from the relationship, and be able to focus your energies on the outside world, and making it more awesome. Today is one of those days. And the last ring that Bitsy made for me for my assistance.

Tomorrow: I will be home and giving Bitsy's all sorts of new rings. (well, so far, 2 sorts)

Materials: Bendaroos, comfort

Saturday (back-dated): Remember the good times

Bitsy finished a first draft of her ITP Camp project. It was pretty great to see it and play with it. And so we celebrated with a bottle of champagne. But I also figured that there would be more work to do. I thought that one day, when Bitsy was doing more work to turn her first draft into the final submission, her energy might flag. So I wanted to leave a reminder of that great moment, full of excitement.

Also, I wanted to redo this concept so I could properly say: thank you, Sarah Sandusky, for the idea to use a champagne wire basket as a ring.

Also, I wanted to redo this concept so I didn't have to think up a new concept.

Materials: Champagne, Joy, Exuberance, Suggestion from Sarah Sandusky, Recycling

Wednesday (back-dated): a family heirloom

Bitsy has a robe that's been handed down. As robes are wont to do, especially intergenerational robes, it is now thread bare. Bitsy threw it out, but I reclaimed it from the rubbish bin. And I made it into a ring.

And with the rest of the robe, Necessity and Invention have found a new bed. How's that for recycling?

Materials: family heirloom robe, half-assed sewing skills

Don't Forget The Milk

As I write this, I'm on a plane that's whisking me off to Cal-i-for-ni-a. There's so much I still need to do. But, one thing I did before going was to clean out the old milk in the fridge that was smelling bad. Bachelor Dan would have left it there for another 8 months. But I know that Bitsy doesn't like it. So, I emptied it out and took it out with the rest of the recycling. I wanted to give Bitsy tangible proof of the good job she's done taming.

Materials: a reminder of the work I did before I left, and the sparkling future of my imminent return
